Blessed

March 6, 2011 J's Baby Blessing
J wore the same blessing outfit that Scott wore...28 years ago.
Our chubby boy barely fit into this little number.
Getting ready for his big day.

Family photo.  This is the church where I was blessed....32 years ago.  I know, I'm older than Scott!
The man of the hour.
Baby feet!
Ahhhhh.

At the end of the party, our wild man was naked and passed out.

6 in 100

It's amazing how much you worry once you have a baby.  The most minor of ailments and I am online diagnosing him with something life threatening.  It's not all that surprising to some people, given that I have a touch of the hypochondriac in me.  Which I refute or confute (word of the day) completely because I most definitely was sick all those times.  And just because you don't have a fever doesn't mean you're not sick.  Right?

Anyway, last night during one of the times J got up to eat, I noticed that he had gunk in his eyelid.   So I woke Scott up from a pretend deep sleep for him to examine J's eye.  He acted like it was no big deal and went back to bed.  Meanwhile each time J got up for a feeding his eye got pastier and pastier.  Of course I am panicking and counting down the hours until I can call the nurse and take him to the doctor so he doesn't lose his vision or worse, his entire eye.

However, I think we're in the clear.  I think it may just be a clogged tear duct and with a little warm wash cloth it may just go away.  The all knowing Internet says that 6 in 100 babies suffer from this.  Funny, I always thought J was one in a million.  Turns out he is 6 in 100.

The Birthday Girl

So there are, technically speaking, two Bellie's in my life.  One is the new found excess of fat around my mid-section and the other is our sweet terrier of a dog named Bella (a.k.a.) Bellie.  Although I think it would be pretty awesome if I was celebrating my fat rolls birthday, today is the birthday of the other Bellie in my life.

I've definitely become one of those people that treat their dog more like a human than a pet.  From sharing the food on my plate to having full-on conversations with her in which I'm pretty sure she is listening and in total agreement with me.  She has won a spot as part of the family and for her 1st birthday we are going all out.  Nothing ridiculous, just a long walk and some extra attention that she has been giving up lately to the "11 pound intruder".  And of course, what says "I love you" better that food.  So to celebrate there will be apples and bacon...for both my Bellie's.
